Senior Concerns Care Call program serves those individuals living alone and in need of a regular reassurance call. The program enables older adults and disabled individuals to continue living independently. Participants know they will be contacted on a regular basis, thus ensuring a friendly phone call along with the knowledge that help will be dispatched in the event they are unable to answer their phone.
CareCall is sponsored by Senior Concerns. The Conejo Recreation and Park District’s RSVP volunteers and the Goebel Senior Center Commission are sponsors of the program. The program service area includes Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park and Westlake Village.
CareCall participants receive a regular “check-up” call from a designated volunteer, at no cost. Telephone calls are made on a prearranged schedule, Monday through Friday, usually between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. If no contact is made, the volunteer will notify a Senior Concern’s case manager who will follow-up with the participant’s relatives and neighbors, and then begin emergency procedures if necessary. For more information, or to sign up for CareCall please contact Senior Concerns at 805-497-0189.
