💙 Frieda & Susan
Frieda:
“I really like Meals on Wheels. I first received it when my husband Jerry was living with both dementia and Parkinson’s. I always had to be ‘on’ — there was no break. The drivers became such a bright spot in my day. I’ve met so many kind people, but Susan has a special way of lifting my spirits. When I’m feeling down, she makes me laugh — and suddenly, I feel better. She genuinely wants to know how I’m doing. Sometimes we even laugh about my wrinkles!”
Susan, Volunteer Driver (30 years):
“So many of the people we deliver to are completely alone. For many, we’re the only person they see all day. Delivering meals isn’t just about food — it’s about making sure someone is okay. And you can see how happy they are when you arrive. That moment matters.”
💛 Claire & Harlene
Claire doesn’t always engage in conversation — but one day, when her driver Harlene asked how she was doing, Claire smiled brightly and said,
“It’s neat when you come over!”
Harlene, Volunteer Driver (10 years):
“People sometimes ask me, ‘Isn’t that sad?’ And I tell them — not at all. There is so much joy in this work. I’ve learned so much from these wise, beautiful people. I’ve watched seniors go from shy and fearful to smiling with confidence — because they feel comfortable, needed, wanted, and heard. That’s what this connection does.”
💕 Brenda & Elaine
Elaine, Volunteer Driver (since 2018):
“I love being out in the community and meeting people like Brenda. Knowing I can bring a little comfort, nourishment, and conversation — that connection is powerful. It means everything to feel like you’ve made a difference in someone’s life.”
Brenda:
“I start waiting for Elaine on Sunday night — the night before she comes. I’m so happy knowing she’s on her way. I get hungry, too! She always has my meal, and she always has my back.”
❤️ This Is the Impact You Make
Your registration.
Your donation.
Your support.
It provides more than a meal — it delivers safety, comfort, dignity, and human connection to seniors who might otherwise be alone.
And for many, it brings the most important thing of all:
someone who shows up.
