Home Delivered Meal Programs
Since our founding in 1975, Senior Concerns has provided Home Delivered Meal programs for our local seniors. Our programs deliver freshly prepared, nutritious meals right to the senior’s doorstep. In addition, our team of volunteers provide a friendly check in.
Meals On Wheels
We partner with Los Robles Medical Center to provide a traditional Meals On Wheels Program that can deliver meals up to seven days per week, serving the communities of Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Oak Park and Agoura Hills. To enroll in this program a senior must be:
- Over the age of 60
- Home during lunchtime delivery hours (or leave a cooler with ice at the door).
- Unable to cook or shop due to health or transportation limitations.
- Have no one in their household able to cook for them.
The cost for 1 hot meal and 1 cold meal is $11.75 per day, or $7.50 per day for 1 meal. Special diets and dietary preferences can be accommodated.
Ventura County Area Agency on Aging Home Delivered Meal Program
In partnership with the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging, we also offer a program for those with a financial need. There is no fee for this program. This meal program was designed to support adults 65 and older in staying healthy by delivering nutritious meals to their homes. These meals are delivered to Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park residents only, from a restaurant in Newbury Park on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Seniors will receive one meal per day. This program does not accommodate special Diets.

Volunteers Make a Difference
Wonderful dedicated volunteer drivers include homemakers, business professionals, retirees, students, members of local service organizations, churches and community groups. Although they cover a broad spectrum of ages and backgrounds, Meals On Wheels volunteers share a common goal–to reach out to homebound seniors who are unable to cook for themselves. Volunteers are scheduled to deliver meals once a week or serve as substitute drivers when needed. There’s a special dividend for volunteers and for the seniors they serve: sharing the daily gift of a friendly face, a smile, and caring support. Learn more about volunteering at Senior Concerns.
