Senior Concerns is working in partnership with the Westlake Village Sunrise Rotary Club to provide complimentary home repair services for seniors living in the 91361 and 91362 zip codes.
If you don’t live in these zip codes but know a senior who does, please let them know about our program – they’ll thank you for the tip!
After being vetted by Senior Concerns, volunteer Rotary Home Team™ participants provide essential home maintenance services to seniors FREE of charge. Rotary Home Team’s mission is to support elderly individuals needing assistance with a variety of home repairs.
The Need For A Helping Hand
Seniors often face challenges tackling household repairs, and may lack family assistance or funds for professional services.
The Rotary Home Team offers help with common maintenance tasks, such as:
- Replacing hard-to-reach light bulbs
- Changing smoke detector batteries
- Fixing leaky faucets
- Repairing doors
- Adjusting handles and cabinet pulls
- Resetting circuit breakers
- Other minor repairs
How It Works
Please contact Senior Concerns at 805.497.0189 to schedule an appointment.
Senior Concerns will coordinate with the Rotary Home Team to schedule an appointment with you. Workdays are held one Saturday every other month (dates subject to change).
During the workday, volunteers Rotarians will visit your home to assist with minor repairs. Rotary Home Team volunteers will provide proper identification and discuss your maintenance needs. You will be asked to sign a liability waiver.
Volunteers come prepared with tools to complete the tasks. If they cannot address your needs, they can offer referrals to qualified professionals.
Getting Results
Lights turn on, doors open smoothly and faucets no longer drip! Upon completion of repairs, Rotary volunteers will provide you with a list of additional resources available to seniors in your area.
Rotary volunteers are ready to help you feel safe, secure and comfortable in your home. They are responsible, friendly, local members of your community who want to connect with you!
