Meals on Wheels

The Senior Concerns Meals on Wheels program delivers more than 35,000 nutritionally balanced hot lunches and light meals annually. Approximately 100 volunteers deliver meals to homebound seniors in Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park seven days per week, including all holidays except Christmas. Prepared in the kitchens of Senior Concerns and Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center our menus are developed in accordance with nutritional dietary guidelinesCommunity Groups also provide gifts and surprises for holidays throughout the year as a special touch to all our seniors.

See how our volunteers make a difference!

Wonderful dedicated volunteer drivers include homemakers, business professionals, retirees, students, members of local service organizations, churches and community groups. Although they cover a broad spectrum of ages and backgrounds, Meals on Wheels volunteers share a common goal--to reach out to homebound seniors who are unable to cook for themselves. Volunteers are scheduled to deliver meals once a week or serve as substitute drivers when needed. There’s a special dividend for volunteers and for the seniors they serve: sharing the daily gift of a friendly face, a smile, and caring support.  Learn more about volunteering at Senior Concerns here
