Senior Concerns, as part of its commitment to provide support and education for seniors and family caregivers, will present a virtual seminar titled “Having the Conversation.” The seminar will be held via Zoom from 3:00-4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022.

This informative seminar will provide tips on how to best approach discussing end of life wishes and values, how our quality of life affects our medical wishes and outlook, and important factors to consider when selecting your Health Care Agent.

Most of us want to make our own decisions about our bodies and medical care. But sometimes that’s not possible. That’s where a health care agent comes in. This is a person you allow to make decisions for you in case you can’t make them yourself. For example, if you were in an accident that left you unable to speak, your agent could make choices that honor how you want to be cared for.

The seminar will be presented by Katie Wiltfong, MSW, co-founder of Solo Aging Solutions, LLC. Katie Wiltfong is a medical social worker with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Southern California. Katie has a background in hospice care and has worked the last several years for Buena Vista Home Health, Palliative and Hospice. From her experience working with older adults and those facing terminal illness, Katie co-founded Solo Aging Solutions LLC, a company dedicated to providing informed healthcare decision making to clients when they are no longer able to do so for themselves.

Space is limited online to 100 people. To make a reservation, please visit  https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_uCUahCZuSAOeeXG4NsslCw
