For five decades, Senior Concerns has been serving the needs of Conejo Valley’s older adults and their caregivers. To celebrate, the Thousand Oaks nonprofit has chosen “The Golden One” as the theme for its annual Ultimate Dining Experience, set for March.

The evening gala will honor Senior Concerns’ legacy in the community while raising critical funds to support programs such as its adult day program for seniors with cognitive or physical impairment. Meals On Wheels and a caregiver support center are other hallmarks of the organization.

Additionally, the event will celebrate legacy families and organizations whose philanthropic support and partnerships have been instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission over its existence.

“Reaching our 50th anniversary is a testament to the generous support of our community and the dedication of our board of directors, volunteers, and staff,” said Andrea Gallagher, Senior Concerns president.

“This gala is not just a celebration of our history but a vital opportunity to ensure we can continue our mission of serving seniors and their caregivers for years to come,” Gallagher said.

Dining Experience guests will get to sample delicious cuisine from celebrated local restaurants, breweries, distilleries and wineries under a tent while browsing auction items beginning at 5 p.m. Sat., March 15 at the Hyatt Regency Westlake.

A gourmet seated dinner will be served in the ballroom, followed by a high-spirited live auction and special performances and presentations.

Founded in 1975, the organization has served thousands of seniors and family caregivers in eastern Ventura and western Los Angeles counties.

In addition to the services listed earlier, Senior Concerns provides senior advocacy services, in-home geriatric assessments, pro bono legal and financial services and educational seminars.

“Over the past five decades, Senior Concerns has evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of our senior population,” Gallagher said.

“We’ve increased the number of seniors and family caregivers we serve, which is over 13,000 annually, and expanded the range of vital services we offer,” she said.
