As part of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s National Memory Screening Day, Senior Concerns will present free memory screenings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Nov. 16 at 401 Hodencamp Road, Thousand Oaks. The event will also feature Dr. Lisa Hayden and Tee Barr. Hayden, a clinical research psychologist with the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System, will discuss the difference between normal aging and cognitive impairment. Barr will speak about Brain Fitness, one of Senior Concerns’ programs designed to improve and maintain brain health. Memory screenings are suggested for anyone concerned about memory loss or experiencing warning signs of dementia; whose family and friends have noticed changes in them; who believe they are at risk due to a family history of dementia; or who want to see how their memory is now and for future comparisons.
