Ultimate Dining Experience

On Sunday, August 5, 2008 six notable chefs, as well as Wedell Cellars of Arroyo Grande, Opolo Vineyards, Wades Wines and The Wineyard collaborated for what has become known as the Ultimate Dining Experience. Held at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza in Westlake Village, this event  was once again a triumphant success for Senior Concerns, with all profits going toward quality of life services and programs for seniors in Ventura and western L.A. counties.

Don Hegarty, Business Manager for Senior Concerns was pleased to note that “we did better than the previous year despite the current economic conditions.”

The event featured seven separate courses prepared by John Foerster of the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, Tommaso Barletta of Tuscany II Ristorante, Sylvain Rivet of Amuse Bouche, Phyllis Vaccarelli of the Westlake Culinary Institute, Kristen Ofeldt of Cafe Firenze, and Amy McNelis of Bellavino Wine Bar and Restaurant.

With spectacular food and an array of silent auction items, the highlight of the evening was the outpouring of generosity shown by those attending. Many attendees pledged financial gifts during the “Fund A Need” portion of the auction which provides for the sponsorship of individual seniors at Senior Concerns center.

Event Chair Andrea Gallagher remarked, “UDE delivered great food from local chefs, great California wines and an entertaining evening devoted to supporting our community’s seniors.”

With plans already in the making, the 2009 Ultimate Dining Experience promises to be an event worth attending with showcase wines and savory creations by some of the areas finest chefs.
