As part of an ongoing commitment to provide resources and support for family caregivers of those caring for aging loved ones, Senior Concerns will present a community seminar on “Optimal Nutrition During Challenging Times for Caregivers,” on Tuesday, May 19, 2015, 5:30-7:00 p.m. at Senior Concerns, 401 Hodencamp Road, Thousand Oaks.

This informative seminar, led by Lisa Weaver, M.S, R.D., will help you learn how to protect your health through good nutrition, provide optimal nutritional intake throughout your day to maximize your energy, and plan your meal and snack times to reduce stress. You will learn how to create a personal daily nutrition plan, how to choose foods that are essential to a strong immune system, sample some delicious energy-boosting snacks and receive recipes for good-for-you snack ideas, identify memory boosting foods, discover ways to boost dietary fiber and learn the secrets to making healthy meal choices when eating out.

Lisa Weaver, M.S., R.D., is the Director of Nutrition Services at Senior Concerns. In this role, Lisa manages the organization’s Meals On Wheels Program, the Adult Day Nutrition Program and the Congregate Meal Program at the Goebel Adult Senior Center. Lisa brings extensive experience in clinical, management, counseling, teaching and food production.
