What started out as the “Senior Stroll” in 1991 has now grown into the Ladin Subaru Love Run, one of the premier races in the Conejo Valley. Planned for Sunday, June 2, 2019 in Westlake Village, this popular event features the Love/Hate Half Marathon, which will be run on a course that is half street and half trail. The half-marathon is limited to 400 runners. Runners and walkers can also participate in a 10K, 5K or one-mile fun run. It is the perfect event for the entire family.

The Finish Line Festival is also expected to attract a large and diverse group of exhibitors who will be handing out samples and sharing information from a variety of fitness and wellness related businesses. In addition, the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks will be serving a delicious pancake breakfast. And, once again the Finish Line Festival will include a beer garden.

This annual event supports Senior Concerns’ Meals On Wheels Program, which helps ensure that homebound seniors do not go without food. Volunteers deliver two nutritious, freshly-prepared meals 365 days a year. In 2018, volunteers delivered more than 32,000 meals on Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park. Funds raised from the Love Run help enable Senior Concerns to provide Meals On Wheels scholarships to those who cannot afford the program and ensures nobody in financial need is turned away. The Love Run also provides support for other Senior Concerns programs and services.

“Since the start of the Love Run 26 years ago, over 20,000 runners and walkers have participated,” said Andrea Gallagher, President of Senior Concerns. “With the support of our community, we have raised over $1.25 million for Senior Concerns’ Meals On Wheels Program and have delivered nearly 750,000 meals to homebound seniors since 1975. We are truly proud of the impact the Love Run is having on the lives of seniors in the Conejo Valley.”

Ladin Subaru has been a strong supporter of Senior Concerns for the past four years through Subaru’s Share the Love Campaign. Last year, the Share the Love Campaign raised more than $46,000 in vital funding for Senior Concerns.

“As part of Subaru’s Love Promise, Ladin Subaru is helping to support our community,” said Gallagher. “Ladin Subaru’s Love Run sponsorship is an important step in helping to ensure that homebound seniors in Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park have access to nutritious, freshly prepared food delivered to their homes. We are thrilled they are the Title Sponsor of this event for the fourth consecutive year!”
