The Ventura County Homecare Association will host its annual “Feed the Need” golf tournament and fundraiser on Thurs., Aug. 29 at Moorpark Country Club, 11800 Championship Drive. The association represents nearly 60 local business that provide homecare and health services to the aging. Last year’s event raised $25,000 and had more than 100 golfers. All proceeds from the event will benefit two local charities: Senior Concerns and Ventura County Caregivers. Senior Concerns is a nonprofit that provides programs and services for aging seniors, families, caregivers and the community. It helps seniors remain as independent as possible and maintain a good quality of life. Started in 1975, Senior Concerns sponsors the Meals on Wheels program. Ventura County Caregivers is a nonprofit established in 1984 that provides non-medical, inhome support services and transportation for homebound, frail elders, preventing their premature placement into care facilities and making it possible for seniors to continue living in their homes.
