Senior Concerns will present a workshop titled “Dealing With Dementia” from 1 to 5 p.m. Tues., April 23 at Senior Concerns, 401 Hodencamp Road, Thousand Oaks.

The workshop will provide effective strategies for dealing with dementia behaviors and providing care for loved ones.

The workshop was developed by the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving.

“The goal for the ‘Dealing With Dementia’ caregiver workshop is for Alzheimer’s and dementia family caregivers to gain a better understanding of dementia, utilize strategies to effectively manage dementia behaviors, and develop habits of stress management and self-care,” said Gayle Alston, director of RCI Training Center for Excellence.

Caregivers who attend the workshop will receive a copy of the new “Dealing with Dementia Guide,” which has over 300 pages of information and solutions to problems caregivers face every day.

Refreshments will be served. A $10 donation is requested.
