Registration is open for the Senior Concerns 31st Anniversary Love Run scheduled for June 1 in Westlake Village.
This annual fundraiser supports Senior Concerns’ Meals On Wheels Program, which provides more that 65,000 meals per year to over 450 homebound seniors in Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Oak Park, and Agoura Hills.
Each year the Love Run races draw more than 500 spectators and 2,500 participants.
This year’s four sponsored events are the Pennymac 10K, the Mazda and VW of Thousand Oaks 5K, the California American Water 1-Mile Fun Run, and the Carol’s Tribe Virtual Run.
Logix Federal Credit Union is the presenting sponsor.
At the finish line will be a health and wellness expo and a pancake breakfast provided by the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis.
The Ridge at Westlake Village will host a Mimosa Garden and Los Robles Health System will sponsor a “Plenty of Plates” activity.
“Senior Concerns’ Meals On Wheels program is more than a meal service,” says says organization president Andrea Gallagher. “It’s a vital program that supports our seniors’ well-being through nutritious meals and social connections while fostering independence.
“More than ever, we rely on community support to bridge critical funding gaps. Our seniors are depending on us,” Gallagher said.
