Nonprofit adds licensed counselor, dietician
Senior Concerns has announced the addition of two new members to its leadership team. The expansion is part of an effort to meet the growing needs of seniors and their family caregivers throughout eastern Ventura County.
Registered dietician Lisa Weaver has been named the director of nutrition services. Weaver will manage the organization’s Meals on Wheels program, the Adult Day Nutrition program and the Congregate Meal program at the Goebel Adult Community Center.
Weaver brings experience in clinical, management, counseling, teaching and food production. Most recently, she served as a public heath nutritionist for the Ventura County Health Care Agency. She has also worked as a clinical dietitian for Los Robles Hospital Nutrition Clinic and as a registered dietician health coach for Wellpoint Inc.
In addition, she has worked with Head Start Nutrition Services for Ventura County, Northridge Hospital Medical Center and Ventura County Public Health.
Cathleen Bodie, licensed professional clinical counselor, is the new care manager. She will provide one-on-one consultations, support, information and referrals to family caregivers who are caring for a senior loved one.
Bodie has more than 10 years of experience providing case management and educational programs for older individuals, their families and the community.
She has worked at the College of the Canyons as a member of the adjunct counseling faculty and was the care manager program supervisor and coordinator of care for the Caregiver Project at Villa Esperanza Services.
She also worked as director of social services for the Robert M. Wilkinson Senior Multipurpose Center and was a long-term care coordinator for the Bernardi Senior Multipurpose Center.
 Senior Concerns is a Thousand Oaks-based private, nonprofi t organization that serves all seniors, especially those who are frail and have special needs, as well as their caregivers and families.
